Mark Sampson - South Africa |
Mark Sampson’s hilarious brand new show MISSING LINKS sold out at the Masque Theatre, Cape Town, over Easter and was the opening show at the new development at the Cradle of Humankind in Gauteng in April/May. Inspired by a visit to the Sterkfontein caves, Sampson contemplates a South African future for his kids by looking back at the very origins of the human family - all the way from the great apes to George Bush.
He'll take you on a rollercoaster taxi-ride through 3 billion years of evolution: from microbes to man, via Little Foot, Mrs Ples and a lot of monkeying about. A laugh-a-minute hour with one man and a microphone that will make you see our ancestors – and our present - in a whole new light…”

Martin Jonas - South Africa |
Martin Jonas, discovered at South Africa’s first real comedy club, Hysterix in Johannesburg, has impressed audiences with his novel style and pertinent observational humour. He is South African to his fingertips and was one of the few performers to receive a standing ovation at the inaugural Smirnoff Mule comedy Festival at the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town in 1997. Is he funny? You better believe it! But there is a striking depth and intelligence to his dialogue that leaves you feeling that he is destined for big things. Martin’s brand of comedy can best be described as observational, from where he has been known to wonder off into some very surreal territory. Martin has always pursued live entertainment and Stand-Up is the most direct route to connecting with an audience.
